You Know I Hate Pain; That’s Why I Gave Up Toaster Pastries

Holy crap. It’s been 2 months since I’ve updated this thing. Although, in defense of myself and my slacking ways, it has been a busy couple of months. Well, a busy first month followed by another month of really getting settled into my routine and whatnot here in Bluffton. Sucks that I have to say Bluffton instead of Hilton Head; it just doesn’t have quite the same ring. Bluffton. Hilton Head Island. You decide.
Work is good. We’re pretty busy, which I suppose is a good thing. There’s hardly ever a time when there’s nothing to do, so that’s good. I’d rather be busy than bored out my mind. We’ve already done some good work, I think, and we’ve got a few big projects that we’re working on right now. I’m pretty much going solo on designing and implementing a gigantic stats tracking database for a junior golf tour that’s headquartered on the island. I suppose it’s a good thing that I’ve got some experience with databases of sizeable… erm, size, having designed the Lethal Trumpet Essential Guide database. Looking back on that, that really was a massive undertaking and it turned out really well, I think.
Speaking of Ideas-related things, I finally decided that I’d had enough with the mediocre at best design of the Ideas of America site so a couple weeks ago, I sat down and over the course of a weekend, totally redesigned it and implemented a totally new admin console for Chris and I. The design and layout also turned out extremely well, to toot my own horn for a second. On a related note, I’m also developing a new Fantasy NASCAR site for Chris to use for the league. As far as I know, he’s the only one that’s seen it so far and I’d like to keep it that way until it’s totally done. It will be quite nice, though, I think. Already done some good work on that and parts of it could end up being part of my “portfolio.”
Been getting back into racing after having slacked off for a long time and then getting sidetracked by Forza. But I talked to Jesse last weekend and it looks like we’re going to be racing some this weekend so we can start getting back in the groove. We’ve both got spare time in the evenings now so we oughta be able to get kicking ass soon, I hope.
I guess that’s about it for now. I’ll try to keep this updating thing happening more frequently. Perhaps once a week or something. We’ll see. I don’t know if my life is interesting enough for me to update that frequently, hehe.
